KIU Academy Presentation
This past Monday, I went to KIU Academy to present the homestay program to parents interested in sending their children. Thanks to the help of Steve Rohrer, I was able to speak more freely about the program as he translated what I said. It was a huge blessing to have him there. Many of the parents attending the meeting asked questions. It is a good sign they are serious about sending their child or children. There were about 10 families represented mostly by mothers. 南麻衣子（Maiko Minami - 2009 Staff）2009年に、初めてスタッフとして参加しました。このホームステイプログラムは本当に素晴らしいと思います。プログラムでは、カリフォルニアの晴天と開放的な雰囲気の中、本当に温かいアメリカ家庭で家族の一員として時を過ごし、一緒に来た仲間と観光し、教会学校に通い地元の子供達と触れ合うことができます。最初は不安いっぱいだった参加者の皆もいつのまにか、自分のファミリーや地元の子供達と英語を恐れず交わり、そして日本の仲間とも助け合う仲となり、かけがいえのない体験をしてました。帰る頃には皆、それぞれが自分が体験したアメリカに興味を持ち、一回り心も大きくなったのを感じました。私も子供の頃こんな体験ができるならぜひしたかったなーと思えるプログラムです。Yate's一家は、アメリカのもてなす心、1人1人を楽しませる、頼れる、素晴らしい家族です。どうぞ参加して体験してみてください。
