Planning to Go
As of May 11, we are still planning to do the summer homestay program and praying that the swine flu problem will come under control sometime soon. I talked to Janet this morning and she says that the media is making the issue out to be worse than it really is. She says that most people in America are going about their business as usual and not so worried about it. We will coninue to track the swine flu around the world and in America to ensure the safety of those who join the program. Please check tie website for further updates. EPH 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, [21] to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Please pray for the program this year. Pray for the students, staff and host families. Pray God will be revealed to those participating in any way. Pray for everyone’s safety and that everyone has a great time and learns lots from the program.

藤本 綾華 (Fujimoto Ayaka 2005)当時は6年生で英語が全く出来なかったけど、おもいきってアメリカに行きました。
初めてホストファミリーに会った時はドキドキで、私が英語を話せないって伝えたら「たいした事ないよ。」

三日ぐらいなかなか慣れなかったけど、やさしく私に接してくれたので、毎日が寂しくなかったし、
夜、ドミノと言うゲームにはまって、いつまでも一緒にゲームをしてくれてうれしかったです。
アメリカでは、日本で体験できないようなことをいっぱいしました。ホームステイで一緒に行った人達と、アメリカの
教会学校の人達と一緒にダンスの練習をして、発表会をしたりして恥ずかしかったけれども、みんなと踊れて楽しかったです。
最後のさよならパーティの時、みんなのホストファミリーと一緒にご飯を食べたり、遊んだり、ゆかたも着たりして、もうすぐ日本へ帰るのはすごく寂しかったけれども、楽しい時間でした。
また、アメリカのみんなに会いに行きたいです。

南麻衣子（Maiko Minami - 2009 Staff）2009年に、初めてスタッフとして参加しました。このホームステイプログラムは本当に素晴らしいと思います。プログラムでは、カリフォルニアの晴天と開放的な雰囲気の中、本当に温かいアメリカ家庭で家族の一員として時を過ごし、一緒に来た仲間と観光し、教会学校に通い地元の子供達と触れ合うことができます。最初は不安いっぱいだった参加者の皆もいつのまにか、自分のファミリーや地元の子供達と英語を恐れず交わり、そして日本の仲間とも助け合う仲となり、かけがいえのない体験をしてました。帰る頃には皆、それぞれが自分が体験したアメリカに興味を持ち、一回り心も大きくなったのを感じました。私も子供の頃こんな体験ができるならぜひしたかったなーと思えるプログラムです。Yate's一家は、アメリカのもてなす心、1人1人を楽しませる、頼れる、素晴らしい家族です。どうぞ参加して体験してみてください。
